Scott Karpiak – President & Member of Board of Directors
Scott’s is a Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor at Janney Montgomery Scott, and investment firm based in Philadelphia. His former position was Vice-President, Financial Advisor at Royal Bank of Canada. Scott manages, advises, and consults on over $700 million at RBC Wealth Management in Philadelphia.
Born and raised in NE Philadelphia, Scott began his career as a carpenter and eventually a construction company owner. Not feeling completely satisfied with his career choice, Scott returned to college and graduated as class valedictorian with a degree in psychology and a focus in management from Webster University in Leiden, Netherlands.
After graduating college, Scott joined Morgan Stanley, followed by the Charles Schwab Corporation where he helped develop their Private Client Program. Scott then joined RBC Wealth Management in 2006, and currently holds the Series 7, 9, 10, 63 and 65 brokerage licenses. In addition, Scott is a licensed accident, life, and health insurance agent.
In 2014, Scott formalized a business partnership with longtime RBC colleague, Gregory J. Dupee. Greg has 25 years of a unique expertise in consulting and managing company retirement plans for both profit and not-for-profit organizations. Combining Greg’s skills with Scott’s 17-year career in personalized wealth management; they have built a bumper-to-bumper wealth management solution for organizations, endowments, and affluent investors, using a risk adjusted, personalized approach.
Scott currently lives in Lansdale, Pennsylvania with his wife, Margie, and two children, Quinn and Jessica. He is involved in his community by coaching baseball, basketball, and softball. As a member of Commonwealth National Golf Club, Scott enjoys spending the occasional afternoon with family, friends, colleagues, clients, and/or prospects, humiliating himself while chasing around a small, white, hard to find ball.
